Biography

Yorkshire-born James Mackenzie worked at various top kitchens across the country before making his name as head chef for Andrew Pern at the Star Inn at Harome.

He and his wife and business partner Kate took the Pipe & Glass on as an ailing boozer and have worked tirelessly to turn it into one of the UK’s top pubs, winning a slew of accolades including a Michelin star.

James uses only the finest local suppliers of ingredients and has written a book, On the Menu, showcasing his recipes and detailing his outstanding cooking style.
