It was lovingly restored to its former glory by owners’ husband-and-wife team Ko Labeij and Susan Lord in 2017 as a traditional coaching inn.  

It has a two AA rosette dining experience that offers exciting dishes from head chef, Ian Moss, who has previously worked at The Ledbury, Northcote and The Harwood Arms, and has created a menu with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. There is an al a carte menu, tasting menu, sandwich menu, Sunday menu and one that caters for children.

It has seven, individually stylish bedrooms for those wanting that get away that have been given a five-star rating from the AA. It has its own microbrewery on site Mice Ales which brews beers using English hops and Bolton-by-Bowland well water.

The pub was winner of the 2021 Lancashire Tourism Awards 'Perfect Stay' category.

It was also a finalist at the Great British Pub Awards for its food offer in 2022.
