The Stag & Hounds

It has been at the heart of the local community for generations and owners Dom and Antonia, having worked in some of the UK’s best hotels and restaurants, have imbued the venue with their passion and skills.

On the menu you’ll find dishes including the likes of venison carpaccio with parsnip, beetroot and pecorino; garlic king prawn with risotto nero and Rutland red crisp; and cauliflower soup with pecan, maple and truffle to begin.

Mains have included feather blade of beef with carrot, king oyster mushroom and smoked bone marrow sauce; pan roast hake with fennel, chorizo and saffron aioli; and garden gnocchi with roasted root vegetables, house pickles and caper butter sauce.

Desserts have included vanilla panna cotta, hazelnut choux bun and a selection of artisan cheeses.
