The Two Pigs

Sister venue to the Boat in Lichfield, the Two Pigs opened under the stewardship of Liam Dillon in 2025.

The Mercer family bought the pub, previously named the Red Lion, in September 2023 and within a few months, they approached Dillon, asking him to take it on as a gastropub.

This seasonal, neighbourhood pub is somewhere great bar snacks are celebrated all day alongside weekend brunches, selected beers and seasonal cocktails with an ethos of ensuring good times for all.

At the helm of the kitchen is head chef Beth Hipwell with her food focusing on modern pub classics with a twist and elevated while focusing on local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients, serving everything from lunch, dinner, a great weekend breakfast and a Sunday roast.

Close relationships with local farmers, butchers and producers, the pub also receives a lot of produce from the micro-farm at the Boat.

Sample dishes have included half-shell scallops, hazelnut crumb and salsa verde to start while mains have featured roasted cod, crispy new potatoes, samphire with mornay sauce.

Sweeter toothed guests have enjoyed rice pudding with spiced blackberry jam and ginger cake as well as vanilla poached pear with pecan crumble and vanilla ice cream for afters.
