This pub is located in Great Ouseburn, a beautiful rural village nestled midway between the Yorkshire Dales and Moors.
The pub was built by Matthew Gath of Yorvik homes who has lived in the village for over 25 years. He wanted to create a social hub for the village and the surrounding area as it had been without a pub for six years. He searched for the ideal people to operate the pub and found husband and wife team, Rob and Heloisa Mitchell.
They wanted to create a modern day local that would build on a sense of tradition and community. Inspired by the beautiful landscape surrounding them they have ensured that the menu at the Lime Tree Inn is locally sourced. Dishes that have made the menu include Yorkshire Partridge with celeriac, pear, parsnip, wild mushroom and game cigar and slow cooked beef with mustard crust, pickled mushrooms, mash, cabbage with smoked bacon and pot roast carrot.
And for those who want to spend a little more time at the Lime Tree, there are seven individually designed rooms upstairs.
The pub has an AA rosette for excellence and has five stars for its accommodation.
