The Kinneuchar Inn is a 17th-century pub and restaurant which has recently been awarded Best Local Restaurant in Scotland 2023 by The Good Food Guide.
The pub was closed but was reopened in September 2019, with chef James Ferguson and partner Alethea Palmer at the helm.
Ferguson worked with chef Gordon Ramsay and Angela Hartnett before heading to Scotland. You won’t be surprised then that chef Angela Hartnett has named it as one of her favourite restaurants.
The menu champions great local food with an a la carte menu, based on ingredients sourced from the Balcaskie Estate and a handful of carefully curated partners.
The Good Food Guide said The Kinneuchar was a classic example of the very best small, local enterprise.
“We are in complete agreement with the pub’s vocal fan base, who are totally smitten by the generous cooking of fresh, seasonal ingredients; in fact, it makes a particularly impressive regional winner,” it said.
