A renovation in 2023 saw this much-loved local pub the Bittescombe Inn, which has served the local community for over a century, restored to its former glory.
Originally a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century, the kitchen is led by Olivier Certain, who has worked for over 20 years in the South West's top gastro pubs.
The inn has a food offering based on produce from the Bittescombe Estate and other local suppliers. Certain and the kitchen team take pride in sourcing the best local ingredients including its own estate reared animals and fruit and veg from the walled kitchen and market gardens.
Gastro plates, pub classics and bar snacks with a traditional Sunday Roast, are all on the menu, which naturally rotates with the seasons.
The winter menu boasts delights such as Bittescombe venison sausages, mashed potatoes, caramelised onion gravy and braised haunch of Bittescombe estate venison, roasted loin, creamed potatoes, roasted winter vegetables, red wine sauce.
The Inn is the perfect place for that getaway with five en-suite, cosy, bedrooms each with their own distinct character.
