Haven’t booked anywhere and worried about scrambling together a roast dinner? Look no further. At Top 50 Gastropubs, we’ve rounded up the best five premium pubs where you can celebrate your mother this Sunday. Food is a love language, and there’s nothing like seasonal tasting menus, sensational seafood and Michelin-ranked roasts to show mum you care.

Angel at Hetton, Yorkshire

Mothers are in for a treat at the Angel at Hetton. The one Michelin-starred venue is serving up a seasonal lunch on the Sunday.
Dishes will be delivered with “signature Yorkshire hospitality”, according to the pub, with the menu carefully created with the finest, freshest ingredients of the season.
A five-course menu is also available for children up to the age of 12.
Guests can relax in the gastropub’s elegant dining room, which looks out across stunning landscapes, to enjoy the meal’s seven courses.
Michael Wignall and his wife Johanna took over the pub in the September of 2018 along with James and Josephine Wellock.
The pub was awarded its star in 2019, just 12 months after Michael Wignall took over the venue and maintained the accolade for the following years.

The Hind’s Head, Bray, Berkshire

At one Michelin-starred gastropub the Hind’s Head, a special Mother’s Day set menu will run on Thursday (16 March), for those who aren’t able to see their mums on the Sunday.
Three courses will be on offer at a special price.
The pub is in an idyllic setting and fuses classic British cuisine with owner Heston Blumenthal’s modern thinking.
Furthermore, visitors to the pub can choose from three areas, including the restaurant, the Royal Lounge Bar and the Vicar’s Room.
Dishes served at the gastropub have included pea and ham soup with ham hock, pork belly and mint oil; confit pumpkin tarte tatin with salt and vinegar pistachios, sherry caramel and goats cheese ice cream; and earl grey tea smoked salmon with sour cream butter, pickled cucumber and soda bread to begin.

The Loch and The Tyne, Old Windsor, Berkshire

At Adam Handling’s gastropub the Loch & Tyne, a Sunday lunch will be served to celebrate the occasion. Delicious food, tasty cocktails and quality family time in a beautiful pub is promised.
The venue offers everything you’d expect from a modern-day gastropub, including a private dining room and somewhere luxurious and comfortable to rest your head following a sumptuous feed.
For afters, the celebrations continue: dishes have consisted of trifles, banoffee pie-themed puddings, and chocolate and marshmallow fondant.

The Pelican, Notting Hill, West London

This gastropub is giving mothers and their loved ones the chance to enjoy the day at home. Its famous lobster and monkfish pie served with lobster gravy and mash is available to takeaway, serving two to three people, for just £80.
The Pelican was an ordinary boozer on All Saints Road for 150 years before restaurateur James Gummer came along in 2022 to strip back the decor and install London’s rated Owen Kenworthy as head chef.
Aiming to invest in its neighbourhood as well as being a destination for a modern, rustic style of food, the focus in the kitchen is on sustainable ingredients from local suppliers such as Paddock Farms and Whittington Lodge, producers that promote biodiversity and regenerative farming. With dishes from this gastropub, you can be sure the whole family can celebrate in style.
