Flitch of Bacon

Nestled in the yale of the River Chelmer, The Flitch of Bacon is a warm, welcoming and relaxing restaurant with rooms housed in a stunning sixteenth-century Grade I listed building.

The restaurant is led by former Alyn Williams at the Westbury Head Chef, Paul Croasdale. His ethos celebrates the highest quality ingredients, grown in the larder of Essex, with seasonally changing restaurant menus served in an unpretentious and informal setting that welcomes all.

Paul’s menus respect the heritage and story of the Flitch of Bacon, showcasing foraged foods, local meats, sustainable seafood, with simplistic intervention to produce clean flavours and exciting tasting menus.

Whether you’re visiting for lunch, dinner or a romantic getaway, Paul’s mission every day is to create food that connects people and makes special memories.
