Formerly owned by TV and radio presenter Chris Evans, the Grade II-listed pub is nestled deep in the South Downs National Park in the heart of the West Sussex countryside.
Re-opened in December 2014, the pub is now owned by Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers, who gained a star at London’s Restaurant Story.
Together with head chef Graham Squire, he offers a modern take on the independent British pub.
The menu is comprised of dishes made entirely from ingredients sourced from local specialist suppliers and artisan producers.
Set over two floors, downstairs serves as a traditional pub offering a selection of craft and local beers, as well as a range of cocktails and bar snacks.
It offers a great view into the bustling kitchen, described as the “heartbeat” of the Lickfold Inn, furnished with state-of-the-art equipment.
With its Tudor features and exposed beams, the dining room is situated upstairs and designed to create a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the food along with attentive and knowledgeable service.
The menu features a small selection of starters, main meals and desserts incorporating ingredients from a bounty of local specialist suppliers.
Signature dishes include venison, parsley root and black truffle; and monkfish, stuffed trotter and preserved lemon. The bar offers a daily changing menu of small plates.
The well-stocked bar serves a variety of local ales, international beers, artisan spirits and top-notch wines, as well as a number of innovative cocktails. Sparkling wine comes from Sussex’s Ridgeview Estate.
